Once again our nation has been attacked by a demented follower of an abominable religion. This was a terrorist attack by another deluded follower of Islam, plain and simple.

As American’s, we grieve for the families of the thirteen men and women who were murdered without cause or provocation. As Christian’s we pray that the families of the slain find solace, comfort, and hope. We also pray that the deaths of their loved ones are not in vain.

I applaud the speech of our President. They were words of comfort and acknowledgement of the service and sacrifice of America’s best. This horrific event must not be forgotten or passed off as the action of a man who was just “emotionally stressed”, or even insane. We must recognize that this heinous act was an act of terrorism plain and simple.

Questions must be asked and answered as to why this man was allowed to stay in the military after he justified homicide bombings, spewed anti-American hatred, and even made a few attempts to reach out to Al Qaeda. According to Lt. Col. Val Finnell, this murderer was, “A lighting rod who made his views known and was very vocal, he had extremely jihadist views”.

America must not forget that this was not the first time that a Muslim serving in the US Military has turned on fellow service men. It happened in Iraq in the first few weeks of the war. Can it happen again? It can if America doesn’t wake up!

This has been the musings and ramblings of a grieving American.
