I hope all who read this are concerned over the on going Health Care debate in our country.

In watching the news coverage of the Town Hall debates, I have grown alarmed over the comments by some of the Democratic leaders in our country; Comments such as those made by Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who called those who disagreed with the Government Plan,  “Un-American”. One Democratic congressman, who name slips my memory, referred to the dissenter’s as “Brown Shirts”, a reference to the Nazi party of World War II Germany!

In my opinion, the true “Un-American” are those in Washington who are trying to stifle the voice of hard working, Patriotic Americans. Yes, there has been great anger expressed in these Town Hall meetings, and rightly so. The American people have a right to tell their elected officials, “Slow down, quit trying to ram something down our throats that we don’t like”.

The Health Reform the President is trying to push down our throats is not “Health Reform”, but “Health Disaster”. I recommend my readers Google “Daniel Hannan”.  Mr. Hannan is an Englishman and a member of the European Union Parliament. If you Google him you will find some clips from his appearances on American News programs such as, “Glenn Beck,” and “Sean Hannity”. His comments on Nationalized Healthcare is something that every American needs to hear.

What the Democratic Party is trying to do will destroy this Country. Now don’t get me wrong, I do feel that we need Healthcare Reform.  However, I don’t believe that I should pay more taxes to cover someone who can not afford health coverage due to spending habits which include drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, etc. They have made their bed, now let them lie in it. That’s harsh some would say, but is it? I’m responsible for myself, not you, not the government, but me. It’s not right to raise taxes to pay for benefits for those who do not even care about themselves.

The greatest example of Democracy is the voice of the people rising to a fevered pitch, expressing their wishes and desires to those elected to serve them. As some in the town meetings have said to their elective representatives, “You work for us”.

It’s time for Washington to hear from us. Lift up your voice, tell those in Washington listen to us or we will vote you out. Remember, “It’s Government of the People, by the People, for the People”.

This has been the musings and rambling of a true American.
